Dorothy Louise Wheeler

Dorothy Louise Wheeler, age 89, of Dallas, TX passed away on February 10, 2012, in Gunter, TX following a long battle with Alzheimers. She was born on October 7, 1922, in Dallas, TX. Dorothy married Delbert Marlin Wheeler on May 21, 1941 and enjoyed 53 years of marriage. Dorothy was a Red Cross Life Saving Instructor, performed synchronized swimming and was a swimming instructor. She was Vice President of Security Savings & Loan, retiring after 10 years of service. After moving to Allen,Tx. she was a volunteer at the Allen Public Library. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert, and her parents, Joseph and Dovie Rhodes. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Pat McAllister and loving son-in-law, Robert E. McAllister III of Parker, TX; grandsons, Robert E. McAllister IV of McKinney and Marc Lance Marlin McAllister of Plano; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey McAllister of Plano, Taylor and Carson McAllister of McKinney. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 1:30pm in Ted Dickey Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
