

Born on October 26, 1919 to the late Edward A. and Catherine (Riegel) Bowler and son-in-law of the late Frank and Pauline (Gayar) Kuba. Husband of 79 years to Bernadine “Betty” Kuba. Father of Marleen (John) Byrne of Plymouth, Michigan and Carol (Frank) McElligott of Plano, Texas. “Eddie” to grandchildren John (Kristin) Byrne of Troy, Michigan, Rebecca (Steven) Schiffer of McKinney Texas, and Edward “Bowie” McElligott of Plano, Texas. Great-grandfather to Sarah (Jesse) Avendano of East Lansing, Michgian, Justin Byrne of Troy, Michigan, and Molly Schiffer of McKinney, Texas. Brother of Rita Lorraine (Bernard) Leff and the late Margaret (Lawrence) Wolff. Nephew of the late Margaret (Michael) Conway and the late Emma (Dennis) O’Conner. Also, survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was a proud WWII veteran who served in both European and Pacific theaters. In Europe, he served under Gen. Patton where he was awarded five bronze stars. He was a longtime employee of the Joseph Moidel Co.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano, Texas.
Following services in Texas, Edward will be transported to Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He will be laid to rest at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
