

Hector M. Valor, 75, of Plano, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023. He was born on July 11, 1947, in Havana, Cuba, to the late Gaspar & Carmen (Martin) Valor. At the age of 9, Hector and his family moved to Florida to create a better life for themselves, and eventually settled in Houston, Texas. Hector was a 1968 graduate of Lamar High School in Houston and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from St. Thomas University. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Hector spent his entire career in banking and international banking which allowed him to travel around the world.
In 1984, in Lake Jackson, Texas, Hector met his soulmate, Cheryl Glover, whom he married on March 2, 1985. They began their life together in Cameron, Texas before relocating to Plano 28 years ago where they remained. Hector adored Cheryl and their love was strong and resilient. More than anything they enjoyed being together.
Hector never met a stranger and was an instant friend to so many. His outgoing and boisterous personality drew others in. Hector was a devoted friend, who could be relied on for support and for his wonderful sense of humor, which brightened so many people’s lives.
He leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 38 years, Cheryl Valor; honorary son, Chase Howland of Plano, TX; his K9 companions, Dakota and Ranger, and numerous relatives and friends in Texas and Florida.
