Huldah Jane was born June 24, 1934 in Graham, Texas to Romie Louis and Effie Meador Martin. She married the love of her life Rayman V. Boyd, Sr. June 4, 1953 in Plano, Texas who preceded her in death on August 14, 2009. They met at Deubeck Skating Rink in Vickery, Texas and they passed on their love of skating to their children at the same rink. They loved traveling all over but especially liked going to Branson, Mo and Acapulco, Mexico. Jane retired from Atlantic Richfield Oil and Gas Research and Development Facility and JC Penney Life Insurance Company in Plano. She also worked for Precision Manufacturing during the Vietnam War, Republic Insurance Co. in Dallas in the 1950’s and Sarah Coventry Jewelry.
Jane graduated from Plano High School in 1952 a proud Wildcat who had reserved seats on the 50 yard line, 3rd row until the school moved across town and she never missed a playoff game. The women in her class faithfully got together every year to celebrate their friendship. Jane was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Wesleyan Angels and was involved with the MYF. Jane served as President of the Business and Professional Woman’s club and along with Rayman served the community thru the Citizens Band Radio Club and were also charter members of the Plano Pool Association. Jane never met a stranger and loved talking to everyone she met. She had a kind heart and behind the scenes helped to support and take care of those in need. Helping others resolve their problems was her passion.
But most of all, Jane loved her family and spending time with them. Family vacations included her mother and sister and then later in life with the advent of grandkids the dynamics changed to include them. She adored not only her children, Rayman and Frances but also her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jane never missed an opportunity to brag about each and every one of them. They were her world and she didn’t miss a beat in making sure she stayed up to date on what was going on with each one of them. They were her pride and joy and she asked about them in every conversation.
