

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at First United Methodist Church, 503 North Central Expressway, Richardson, TX 75080.
Following the church service will be a graveside service for Joann from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243.
The church service will be Livestreamed at //www.fumcr.com/live for those not able to attend.
Joann was born October 14, 1931 in Hardeman County, Texas. She graduated from Chillicothe King High School and attended Texas Wesleyan College and Texas Women’s University. While at Texas Wesleyan College, she met and married Louis Joe Zastoupil. They married on September 28, 1951. She was loved by her family and friends.
Joann worked for Richardson Independent School District, primarily at Northwood Hills Jr High and Richardson High School. She retired from RISD in 1999. She did volunteer work at Parkinson’s Voice Project, The Network, and First Methodist Church of Richardson Senior Adult Ministry.
Joann enjoyed travelling, puzzles, quilting, ceramics, embroidery, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
Joann is preceded in death by her parents, Willie G and Gertrude Clark, her husband Louis Joe Zastoupil, and her son Zachary Mark Zastoupil. She was also preceded in death by four brothers - Sidney, Wayne, Billy Ray, and Gerald Clark – and her sister Doris Nell Jones.
Joann is survived by her children, Valerie Tarrant and husband Don of Richardson TX, Louis Clarke Zastoupil of Plano TX, Kerry Zastoupil and his wife Mary of Longview TX, and Richard Jay Zastoupil and his wife Chere’ of Frisco TX. She has four grandsons and five granddaughters, 1 grandson-in-law and 3 granddaughters-in-law. Joann has been blessed with seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Sterling Clark of Quanah TX, and sister, Lorraine Maynor of Wichita Falls TX. She also has many nieces, nephews, and their children that she felt very close to and kept up with their lives through the years.
