Knew Pastor Aduddell in Brownwood. Such a wonderful man. May he Rest In Peace. 

SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR DAD MIKE! MY DAD PASSED AWAY ON DECEMBER 4 TH 2021. YOUR FATHER WAS A WONDERFUL PREACHER! HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL. I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WILL BE SEVENTY SOMETHING! I AM SAD TO SAY THAT I AM NOW 69 YEARS OLD. MY LIFE MIKE HAS BEEN VERY VERY HARD BECAUSE OF WRECK. I CAN BARELY WALK NOW. THANK GOD I WAS ABLE TO GRADUATE FROM MARY MEEK SCHOOL OF NURSING 1976 IN ABILENE TEXAS. IT WAS A MIRACLE INDEED!!!!!!


Danny and Sher Meek.         It was my privilege to serve as the youth minister at Allen Height's Baptist Church under Leon. What a mighty man of God.what a great mentor. What a great friend. So many great memories. The last time I saw Leon he came to my sister's funeral. He was dressed to the nine's of course. I could tell he was not feeling well.  He said he couldn't stay but wanted to see me. That's who he was. A servant. Others first. I am a better man for having known Bro. Leon. Proverbs 27:17                                 

I remember playing a round of golf with Leon & his son Pat. We were on opposite sides of the fairway with trees in front of us. Leon hit the ball and you could hear it hit a tree. Pat said you killed a squirrel which is what guys always teased each other about when hitting trees.  Leon actually did kill a squirrel hitting it in the head. Pat gave it to me to hide. He took it to a taxidermist and had it mounted with a golf ball attached to its head. So funny. Leon was a dear friend, a marvelous pastor, and a fine Christian man. We will all miss him dearly. 

Don and I will never forget our first European trip with Leon and Dot.  We were near the end, somewhere in Germany.  We were sitting outside a building resting.  All of a sudden Leon takes off walking like he was on a mission.  After a minute, Dot shouts out “Don’t worry about me Leon, I’ll be fine.”  He never looked back.  We knew that was not indicative of what a good husband he was, but it was so cute!

We are so sorry for your loss. Bro. Leon was a great man of God. One of my memories was one Sunday he was preaching and my son was in the youth group at the time. He was talking and being disruptive. I went up front and grabbed his ear and led him down the aisle to the back of the church. Bro. Leon kept preaching looking away trying so hard not to laugh. After the service he came to me and told us that was a first for him. 

Brother Leon was my pastor from when I was a child till my early adulthood.  I  remember one Sunday after church,  he talked to our youth group about how we should act in the sanctuary.  He was asking us if we ever saw adults passing notes, falling asleep,  whispering and chewing gum in church.  I raised my hand and asked him if he ever turned around and looked at the choir? Needless to say the choir was on their best behavior there after,  for a couple weeks anyway.  Rest in Heaven,  sweet man. May your family find peace that you 
are with The Lord. 

Leon has been such a wonderful friend to our family for my entire life. He has been there for so many of our momentous occasions, including baptisms, weddings, and memorial services. He will always hold a special place in our hearts. Our prayers are with Dot, Mike, and Pat and the rest of the family at this difficult time.  Leon was a true blessing to everyone he met, and especially to our family.
