Mary Ann Rowley

Mary Ann was born and raised in Ortonville, Minnesota to Frank and Alice Greuel (Burns). Mary Ann received her degree in Home Economics at St. Catherines University in St. Paul in 1961. She then taught in Minnesota and Colorado before meeting her husband, Chuck Rowley. They married in 1966 and lived in Guam for two years before moving to California where their 4 children were born. In 1981, the family moved to Plano, Texas. There, Mary Ann became an executive assistant at MCI, where she worked for 28 years, before retiring in 2009.

Mary Ann built a life centered around family. As a devoted mother and grandmother, she was the foundation of her family - steady and capable and always present. She enjoyed attending her kids numerous athletic and school events, chaperoning school dances and being an on-call chauffeur to her kids and their friends. Mary Ann opened her home up to all, making everyone who entered feel important and welcome. Mary Ann enjoyed her grandkids immensely and attended their sports events, swim meets and theater performances as often as she could.

Throughout her 86 years, Mary Ann built a legacy not measured in accolades but in the lives she shaped and the love she gave so freely. She taught those around her the importance of resilience, hard work and family. Her wisdom, laughter and endless strength will be profoundly missed but forever remembered.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Rowley, and by her brothers, Patrick and Frances. She is survived by her sister Margaret O’Leary and her husband Gerald Conley. She also leaves behind her children Charles Rowley III, Laurie and Dru Childre, Michael Rowley and Tricia and Ernest Stovall and grandchildren, Zoe Rowley, Eli and Wyatt Childre, Ella and Bridget Stovall and Cole Rowley.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 3:00pm at Ted Dickey Funeral Home located at 2128 18th Street, Plano, TX 75074.
