Born in Havana, Cuba, on May 27, 1942. She married Alberto J. Sanchez, on January 13, 1962, until his passing in 2023. Both Nancy and Alberto were proud to build their lives in the United States, grateful for the opportunities they found and deeply appreciative of the chance to live the American dream. With a busy life of raising three young children, Nancy pursued and proudly earned her Bachelor of Education from the University of South Florida in June 1980.
Nancy began her professional life as a middle and high school math teacher. She especially enjoyed teaching English in night school to adults eager to build new opportunities for themselves. Her love of mathematics extended beyond the classroom, as she often tutored students in Algebra and Calculus.
Later, working alongside her husband Alberto, she applied her analytical skills to the world of technology, eventually becoming an IT Director. She built computers, implemented and customized software, and created and maintained networks and printers. She embraced every challenge with determination and curiosity.
Nancy had a deep love for gardening. Roses, Orchids, African Violets, Birds of Paradise, Ferns, and Hibiscus flourished under her care. Neighbors often brought her their struggling plants, knowing she had a magical touch. She was also a gifted artist, leaving behind many cherished paintings. She began with oils and later explored acrylics, watercolors, and even digital painting-by-number on her iPhone when her hands could no longer manage a brush. Creativity flowed through every part of her life—she enjoyed cross-stitching, crocheting, knitting, and crafting of all kinds.
The kitchen was another place where Nancy shined. She cooked with joy and mastery, preparing everything from traditional Cuban dishes to Spanish, Italian, American meals, and countless desserts that became family favorites, especially Frosty Date Ball cookies.
Nancy is survived by her son, AJ and daughter-in-law Cynthia and grandson Maximus Sanchez; her daughters Beatriz (Bebe) Sanchez and Diana, and son-in-law Guy Williamson. She is also survived by her sisters, Marisol Molina and Marlene Hunsberger.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alberto J. Sanchez, and her brother, Silvio Montes.
Nancy will be remembered for her boundless creativity, her love of learning, travel and hosting parties, her generosity, and the warmth she brought to every part of her life. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.
