PAT TROTTA, age 72 of Plano, died February 9, 2015 at his residence in Plano, Texas. Pat was a retired Principal Fellow at Raytheon in Arizona. He and his wife, Wanda, moved to Texas from Rochester, New York in the 1970’s, > He lived in Murphy for 15 years where he was the Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission, a “broadening experience.” He was born in Brooklyn, New York and lived his childhood in New Jersey. He worked for Texas Instruments for 25 years and when their Defense Department was bought by Raytheon, Pat moved to Arizona to become a very valued Principal Fellow there. He was much respected , admired and liked by his colleagues and a leading American expert in the field. He reached his young man’s ultimate goal of leaving much to the field of optics in this country.
Pat’s loves were optics, his family, the Arizona mountains. He regularly hiked, played golf, and enjoyed weight lifting and reading. He was a kind, generous, and most honorable and honest man that a family member or friend could always count on for support when in need. A quiet, private person, Pat loved his family 1/0 and was always there for each one of them. As a friend once said about him, he had a wonderful Ipana toothpaste smile – and definitely a candidate for an Irish Spring soap commercial with his black hair and bright blue eyes.
Pat is survived by his wife, Wanda, elder son, Walter, (his first born and pride), wife, Lisa (“hi Papa”), grandchildren Zoe (“she’s just too cute”) and Jake, (“he’ll carry on the Trotta name”); Brian, his laughter and pride, and wife Melissa (“you’ll never find another Melissa”) and granddaughter, Alexa, his hugger through the last year. He is also survived by his loved 96 year old father, his brothers Kevin and Jim and families and sisters Anne Marie and Linda and family. We will miss you 1/0 Pat and will see you soon. You are our rock. We know you will watch over us as you always did. 1/0!
While raising his two sons, one of Pat's favorite sayings was "It's all in the report card" Well Pat Trotta you get an A+
