

Beatrice "Ruth" Jackman, 94, of Plano, Texas left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on August 23, 2021. She was born September 26, 1926 in Sutherlin, Virginia to the late Beverly Wade Walton and Beatrice Walke Walton.
Ruth met the love of her life John (Jack) Jackman in Richmond, Virginia, and they were married on November 26, 1955. A loving mother to five sons and one daughter, Ruth was also blessed with 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. They lived in many locations while raising their family and finally Ruth and Jack spent 20 years of retirement at Holly Lake Ranch, Texas.
During their years together, Ruth and Jack loved to square dance with the Plano Swinging Stars. They took numerous cruises and loved to travel extensively. Ruth also enjoyed playing a weekly game of bridge. Raising six children, she was always cooking something delicious and could easily extend the meal for drop-in friends. The holidays and family celebrations were important to Ruth and always a wonderful time of being together. While worshipping at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Ruth sat near the front so she could listen to Jack sing in the choir.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband John (Jack) M. Jackman, her sister Nancy E. Walton and brother Julian W. Walton.
She is survived by her brother Irvin D. (Ann) Walton of Sutherlin, Virginia; loving sons, daughter and their spouses: Tim and Kass Jackman of Garland, Texas; Denis Jackman of Kalispell, Montana; John and Angela Jackman of Castle Rock, Colorado; Dan and Trina Jackman of Garland, Texas; Jim and Wenjen Jackman of Taipei, Taiwan; Nancy and Rick Kerutis of Plano, Texas; seven grandchildren, Danielle (Jared) Lampe, Sean Jackman, Sara (Danny) Meier, Casey Jackman, Jacki Jackman, Adriana Jackman, Michaela Jackman; 4 great grandchildren, Daniel, Joshua, Jett, and Grant; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ruth’s memorial service will be family only at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Plano, Texas on September 1, 2021 at 11:30 am. Interment to be held on a later date at DFW National Cemetery.
