Sherri Jo Lokey, age 58 passed away on Monday July 22, 2019 with her family by her side. Sherri was born Wednesday June 7, 1961 in Rockwall, Texas to Wesley Ray Rogers and Deloris Ann (Sweeney) Rogers.
She grew up in Wylie, Texas at a time when Wylie was still a small country town. She then went on to pursue a career in health insurance. She worked for Concentra, a national health care company.
Sherri is remembered for her fun and loving way of making up nicknames for family and friends. She was full of life and loved to be a mom to everyone. Even though it was tough, one of Sherri’s greatest accomplishments was that of raising four strong willed, intelligent and loving boys.
Sherri Jo loved watching The University of Oklahoma football and Lifetime movies. Some of her favorite pass times were listening to music, cruising with the windows rolled down, and dancing the cumbia. Her favorite time of the year was October, because it was full of family reunions, haunted houses, and Halloween. She had a great love for Elvis, Mexico and ladybugs but nothing compared to her grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her talks while sipping on some sweet tea or enjoying a late-night meal at Denny’s or El Taquito.
Sherri is survived by her beloved sons Thomas Lokey, Wesley Lokey, Ricardo Torres, Vicente Torres and her daughters-in-law Becky Wiser, Brandi Saunders, and Lauren Torres. Her grandchildren Mikayla Wiser, Jimmy Lokey, Dana Lokey, Jacob Torres, Madeline Torres, and Cheyenne Lokey-Wiser. Also by her Mother Deloris Ann Rogers, Grandmother Maude Sweeney, brother Ronnie Rogers, sisters Susan Galvez and Joy Rodriguez, sister-in-law Stephanie, and brothers-in-law Nico Galvez and Antonio Escobar. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many others who called her mom.
