

Sue’s heart and home where always open to friends and family providing good food, hugs, and plenty of laughter around the table.
Sue grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she graduated from Daniel Webster High School in 1959 and met her husband of 56 years, Bill Robertson. After obtaining her degree in Physical Education from Oklahoma State University, Bill and Sue married and started their lives together in Tulsa.
In 1969, a work transfer brought the couple to Plano, Texas where they created a loving home for their children and formed life-long friendships through church, neighbors, and Plano Wildcat Football.
As a founding member of Christ United Methodist Church Plano, Sue was instrumental in establishing the Sunday School Program and Children’s Discovery Center and participated in multiple service and mission organizations including the Funeral Ministry, Prayer Shawl Ministry, and providing birthday cards to her church family.
In 1981, Sue’s passion for children and education led her to obtain a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Development from University of Texas at Dallas. One of her lifetime joys was teaching kindergarten for Plano Independent School District at Thomas Elementary for 14 years, retiring in 1995.
Sue enjoyed camping, reading, cooking, and traveling across the country and world. With her artistic talents and generous spirit, she created treasured gifts for her family and friends.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis D. and Goldie Jane Honaker; her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Frances Honaker; and brother, Jim Honaker.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Robertson; her children, Lisa Robertson Tiesman (Chris Tiesman) and Scott Robertson (Kari Hoffman). She was “Mimi” to her beautiful grandsons Carter Tiesman, Clayton Tiesman, Caleb Tiesman, and Daxton Robertson, who she loved very much; and “Aunt Sue” to her nephews Richard Honaker, Michael Honaker, and niece Debra Honaker and their families.
Family visitation will be held Thursday evening June 6, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th Street, Plano, Texas.
Friends and Family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at 10:00 am, Friday June 7,2019, Christ United Methodist Church, 3101 Coit Rd. Plano, Texas.
Graveside services will be held June 8, 2019 at noon, Floral Haven Cemetery, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
