Thomas H. Carlin, 85, of Allen, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Tom was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Lawrence R. Carlin and Jeanette I. Carlin. He graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1956 at the age of 16. He attended the University of Missouri on a full baseball scholarship, and pledged Sigma Chi Fraternity. Tom loved sports and his favorite MLB team was the St. Louis Cardinals. He proudly wore a shirt that said, “My Two Favorite Teams are the St. Louis Cardinals and Whoever Beats the New York Yankees.” Tom’s favorite player was Stan “Stan the Man” Musial. He proudly wore Stan’s jersey and pretty much every time he did, he was stopped by another Cardinals fan to talk baseball. He also loved Mizzou football and watched all the games. He loved country music, and his favorite artist was George Jones.
Tom also enjoyed traveling. In his younger years, he traveled to many foreign countries and in his later years he appreciated the serenity of the Pacific Northwest, and the vast wilderness of Wyoming. Professionally, Tom had a successful career in sales and did some modeling on the side.
Tom is survived by his wife of 31 years, Janet Carlin; daughter Barbara Carlin, her partner Mark Reeder, granddaughter Anna Holbert, great grandchildren Liam Powers and Lilli Mims; daughter Catherine Henigan, her husband David Henigan, and granddaughter Riley Henigan; nephews Michael Carlin and Peter Carlin. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Carlin.
