William Earl (Bill) Hill, age 79 of Plano Texas passed away peacefully at his home in Plano on August 9, 2017. William was born in Dallas on June 9, 1938. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Sherrill Hill and his faithful four-legged companion Charley.
William attended Woodrow Wilson high school and was a member of the ROTC. After high school he joined the Air Force and served in the Air Police both overseas and stateside. After discharge he joined the reserves. He was employed by the Garland police department for 7 years. He left Garland to become a member of the Plano police department where he worked in the photos and crime scene and search department. He was also the director of security for Hilton Hotels in Dallas and Denver, Colorado. Bill was an avid model railroader and worked for Caboose Hobbies in Denver where he was warehouse manager.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his sons William Harvey Hill, Donald Earl Hill and James Arthur Hill. Bill’s cremated remains will be laid to rest alongside his son William and his 3 four-legged companions in Estes Park, Colorado.
