Don L. Futch

Don LaRone Futch, age 88 Plant City, Florida passed away peacefully at South Florida Baptist Hospital on August 31,2025. He was born on December 16,1936 in Plant City, Florida. Don served his country honorably in the United States Air Force before relocating to Nashville where he ran his own independent restaurant called D’Anici’s in the mid 1970s before returning for good to Plant City where he retired from Johnson Brothers Inc. after 27 years. Don was a kind soul, had amazing stories, and never met a stranger. He loved country music, Elvis, Westerns, and socializing with his friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Mattie Lou Futch, as well as 2 brothers, Kenneth and Dalton Futch. He is survived by his two children Tammera Futch of Plant City, Florida and Darren Futch of Nashville, Tennessee, one niece Vicki (Marty) McIntosh , one nephew Ricky (Emily) Futch, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, as well as many other friends and family.

A funeral service for Don will be held 11 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2025 at Wells Memorial Funeral Home, 1903 West Reynolds Street, Plant City, Florida. Interment to follow in Mt. Enon Cemetery, Plant City, Florida. The family will receive friends Monday one hour before the service at the funeral home.
