Johnny Dean Page, of Opp, Alabama, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on April 8, 2025, at the age of 89. At the age of ten, his family moved to Plant City, Florida, where he made his home for the majority of his life.
In 1955, Johnny Dean married his “hazel-eyed queen” and the love of his life, Reba Clemons. Married for 70 years, they faced life’s most beautiful and most difficult moments hand in hand, building a legacy rooted in faith, love, and service.
Together, they raised their family at First Baptist Church of Dover and later served faithfully at First Baptist Church of Plant City. Johnny Dean was a proud member of the Army National Guard for 33 years, retiring with honors as Sergeant Major. He began his career at TECO in the warehouse and rose through the ranks to retire as Vice President of Community Relations, serving the company with loyalty and dedication for more than 50 years.
A passionate servant-leader, Johnny Dean gave generously to his community. He was an active member of the Plant City Chamber of Commerce and participated in the Optimist and Rotary Clubs. He served on several boards in both Plant City and Tampa, including one of his favorites—the Tampa Bay Sports Authority—where he played a key role in the construction of Raymond James Stadium in 1998. A lifelong fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Florida Gators, he carried his hometown pride wherever he went.
Johnny Dean was also deeply involved with the Strawberry Festival Board, where he served many years and held the role of President. Through every role, he was known not just for his accomplishments, but for the way he made each person feel seen, valued, and inspired them to be their best.
Music was a central part of his life. Whether strumming his guitar for his grandchildren or serenading staff with personalized songs during his final years at Westminster in Lakeland, his joy was contagious. He made sure his grandchildren and great-grandsons knew the words to John Denver’s “Country Roads” and cherished traditions like “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”
Johnny Dean is now reunited in heaven with his parents, Clinton and Pearlie, his sister Sarah Joe, his brother Billy, his grandson, Kyle, and his brother-in-law, Jimmy. He leaves behind his beloved wife Reba; his son and best friend Johnny Dean Jr. (Amelia); always a daddy’s girl, his daughter Debra (Bruce); his granddaughter Page Anna McNeill (Sean); Matt & Katie Belcher; and his cherished baby sister, Dottie.
Carrying forward his legacy are the great-grandsons who brought him immense pride and joy:
• Private Carter Steven Dykes (19), currently at Airborne School and preparing to enter Special Forces with the U.S. Army, proudly following in his Papa’s footsteps (Parents: Sean & Page Anna McNeill)
• John Cooper Causey (14), sharp-witted, a planner, and high achiever in all he undertakes (Parents: Matt & Katie Belcher)
• Caleb Dean Causey (11), mischievous and driven, proudly carrying his Papa’s name (Parents: Matt & Katie Belcher)
• Major Fleming McNeill (11), full of heart and kindness, honored to inherit his Papa’s cherished guitar (Parents: Sean & Page Anna McNeill)
