I'm so sorry to learn of Jose's passing.  I was Jose's room mate when he lived in North Bergan, N.J.  Jose and I became good friends, and I have many fond memories of him as a genuinely warm, kind, & sincere person, who was always there to help his friends out, and share his knowledge with those he knew.
I will truly miss him.

I will miss you but I know that I will see you again. I will always cherish the times we spent together as children playing. Whether it was your family visiting ours, or my family visiting yours, it was your company that I looked forward to the most. I love all my cousins but truth be told I always loved you more. 
  There are so many fond memories of our childhood that it would be wrong to start and not finish them all. Time passed and we got older but our love and friendship never diminished. I remember when you joined the Marines and you came to visit us and I fell in love with your Marine cap, and you removed it from your head and gave it to me. That was you in a nutshell, always giving.
   As my Mother got older you never forgot to call on her. By then my Mother was single but your calls always lifted her spirits. You never stopped calling her almost weekly until the Good Lord called upon you. 
   When people talk about how special you were,  it is an understatement. Special doesn’t begin to describe what you meant to all of us who held you dear in our hearts. 
   Our spiritual journey is just beginning and I shall see you again. I know it with every fiber of my body, and when I do you will recognize me, because I will be that woman wearing a Marine cap.

So many memories to share - we were always up to something that’s for sure.   We shared so many laughs and good times.   You were one of my dearest and most loved friend and I will never have another one like you .  One of my favorite memories is when we went to a fair off the Tampa highway we were like two little kids getting on all the rides and giggling and laughing  even when one of rides trapped us in a foul smelling cab that took us from giggles to gagging but we laughed so hard anyway.    I will miss you and love you till we meet again my friend

It seems like a lifetime ago when I first met Jose through a mutual connection. Over time he became like a true brother to me. It has been 35 years and it all seems like yesterday. 

The times we shared, the laughter and the conversations of life and great moments that would seem like little to others, paved a concrete foundation to the lifetime of friendship we would experience on our journey. 

Jose was forever kind and giving and had an amazing way of making a long winded situation into an easily manageable solution. He was spontaneous, adventurous and full of life and always willing to lend an ear. 

I will always  remember our midnight drive to South Jersey in search of camping grounds only to turn back and head home before sunrise. 

We both understood through the years, that miles would not create a wall between us, but strengthen our bond as Brothers.  You will always be with me Jose - Fly High Brother! 

Know that my life will have an immense void without you in it.

As I stated earlier, I met Jose in June 1981 and we have remained close till present time.  My emotions took over and I didn't relay the most important  memory about this wonderful man who has left us too soon...Jose was funny, sensitive, adventurous and a gentle soul.  I will love you always and you will be forever in my heart.

I am saddened by the loss of someone so hard to find in life: a true friend. I met Jose and his family 44 years ago when we were both in the Marines. Immediately Jose and his family embraced and accepted me like family. My definition of what it means to be a man has changed over the decades. We are told to be tough, not cry, show no emotions. So, as a result, men all over the world suffer in silence. Jose and I would converse over the years. He would tell me of his love for his family, his job, any physical or emotional pain he was going through and I love and respect him for sharing. He would help me as well and always invite me to visit anytime where I would always be welcomed. A true friend. God bless you my brother. Semper Fidelis. Proverbs 18:24 A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Jose and I met in June 1981 and have remained friends till this day. Memories include watching the sun rise, dancing at Studio 54, attending his parents 50th wedding anniversary,  but above all, laughing until it hurt. Jose will live on in my heart and memories always. Rest in Peace and know you will never be forgotten
