

SHOCKLEY, Lenora “Becky” age 99 passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at home. She was born on August 1, 1918 in Hamilton, OH. Lenora was the ninth of fifteen children born to Ansel and Parriet Beckelhymer. She is predeceased by her husband, Leroy, her parents, and twelve siblings. She has two brothers still living, Oscar Beckelhymer and Sturlen Beckelhymer.
While living in Hamilton, OH, like many others of her generation, she felt the call to service after hearing about the bombing of Pearl Harbor. She served from April 24, 1944 to February 14, 1946. She was stationed in Pennsylvania where she met her husband, Leroy Shockley. They were married 57 years prior to his death in 2004. Lenora and Leroy settled in Pennsylvania where they were blessed with two daughters. The family relocated to Plant City, FL in 1960.
Lenora is survived by her two daughters: Cheryl Shockley Spooner (Gary) and Joy Marie Dean (John), three grandchildren: Kerri Spooner Gambrel (Aaron), Marc Spooner (Noelle), Jonathon Dean (Jaime) and six great grandsons.
The funeral service will be 11am on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Wells Memorial Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:30 am. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
