

Born on September 13, 1957, Sharon grew up in Dover, Florida, where her early years were shaped by family and the quiet rhythms of small-town life. Her journey through adulthood was eventful, but she always held tight to the love and memories of her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LV "John" Polk, Sr.; her parents, Julian Edward McMillan, Sr. and Edwina McMillan; and her older brother, Julian Edward "Eddie" McMillan, Jr.
She is survived by her two sons, whom she loved dearly, Dennis Mitchell Carlisle of St. Petersburg, Florida, and David Allen Carlisle (Amanda) of Alachua, Florida; her brother, Ronald Edwin McMillan of Dover, Florida; and her three grandchildren, Grace Madison, David Mason, and Audrey Jane Carlisle, whom she adored. She is also survived by a host of other family members who loved her dearly.
Sharon will be remembered for her generous spirit and her desire to help others. Her life was not without hardship, but it was uniquely her own—and those who crossed paths with her will remember her in their own way.
A memorial service will be held at Wells Memorial and Event Center in Plant City, Florida, on Saturday, August 9. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
