

Wynona Bettie Tucker James, age 84, passed away on August 25, 2016 at her home in Plant City, Florida. She was born in Andalusia, Alabama on January 8, 1932 to James L. Tucker and Hazel Blanton Tucker. She graduated from Niagara Falls High school and married husband, Evan Richard James in Niagara Falls, New York on November 8, 1952. In her late teens, she won "Miss Niagara Falls". Wynona worked as an Office Manager for Evan’s companies, Niagara Steel Finishing and Steel Contracting Corporation. Wynona was a member of the Niagara Falls Country Club, Plant City Garden Club, and Zonta. She also participated in service league and was a member of Plant City First Presbyterian Church. She was a follower of Jesus. Throughout her life, she enjoyed an active lifestyle that included playing tennis and golf, skiing, horseback riding, swimming, gardening and teaching fitness.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Evan Richard James; son, James R. James (Maureen McKeever) of Ransomville, NY and their children, Shandra James Payne and Joshua James; great grandchildren, Benjamin and Daniel Payne ; daughter, Linda James Wolff (Wil) of Largo, FL and their children, Evan Kosowski, Joel Kosowski, Aaron Kosowski; and son, R. Reis James (JoAnn Gora) of Plant City, FL, and their child, Evangelon James; brother, Joseph Tucker, PhD of Athens, OH; sister, Donna Tucker Izzo of Brockport, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, October 22, 2016, 11am at First Presbyterian Church of Plant City, 404 W. Reynolds St. Plant City, FL 33563 with Reverend David Delph officiating. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service.
