Adrienne Clare Hutchison

Matthews, Adrienne Clare (Hutchison), passed away December 17, 2017. Clare is survived by her three daughters, Lorna (Matthew Morris), Michelle (Michel Cameron), and Deborah (Filoteo Pasquini). Clare was an energetic nana and will be missed by her grandchildren Adrienne, Alexina (Alex), Heather, Margot, Samantha, Katherine and David, and great-grandchild Theodore. The daughter of J. Robinson Hutchison and Adrienne Davis, Clare grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick and was the younger sister of Lorna Wilson. She trained as an X-ray technologist, married Arnold Matthews in 1958 and worked at the UNB library as Arn completed his engineering degree. When Dad was in the RCAF, they moved to France and Belgium and explored Europe together as their family grew. Mom was adventurous, learned from her new experiences and then taught all of us. We learned to look at new situations with excitement and curiosity, to savour the pleasures of a good meal topped off by a fine cheese or two, to appreciate time spent dancing and laughing together, and to always invest in fashionable walking shoes. Mom was also always there when we needed her; she was our rock. Special thanks to Cindy and to the wonderful staff at the Manoir Beaconsfield who provided such caring when it was her turn to need support. Predeceased by Arn and her granddaughter Megan, Clare can now dance with both of them.

A celebration of life will be held at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, Pointe Claire, on December 29, 2017 from 1 - 4 pm. Donations to The West Island Palliative Care Residence in Clare's name are welcomed in lieu of flowers.
