André St-Aubin

Un homme croyant au cœur d’artiste qui voulait toujours prêter main-forte aux autres a complété son œuvre de vie. Il est mort dans sa 85e année, le samedi 25 janvier 2020 au CHLD Côte Vertu de Ville St-Laurent, Québec. Des remerciements particuliers sont adressés au personnel du 4e et du 5e étage de cette institution pour leurs soins empreints de dévouement et d’amour du prochain.

Il a été grandement béni au courant de sa vie par la présence d’Aimée-Rose (Mimi) Harrison qui l’a accompagné avec amour, fidélité et dévouement. Il rejoindra leur fils unique, Marc, qui est décédé le 24 avril 2009 et dont la perte prématurée lui avait brisé le cœur.

André est né à Ramore, Ontario en 1935. Son père Alibert St-Aubin et sa mère Edna Mailloux, qui l’ont prédécédé, avaient transporté leur petite famille lors de la Dépression à la sécurité au sein du petit village de Ramore dans le Nord de l'Ontario. Comme jeune garçon, André a grandi dans un esprit d'aventure et d'amitié, et il parlait souvent avec affection des personnes qui y avaient enrichi sa vie. Pendant sa vie il a aussi été entouré par ses frères et sœurs, à savoir Jérôme, Daniel, et Rosalie, qui l’ont prédécédé, ainsi que Françoise et Etienne.

Il a démontré des talents particuliers en tant qu’artiste qui l'ont amené à refléter avec douceur son amour de la nature et de la beauté de la vie.

Les arrangements funéraires ont été confiés aux Résidences funéraires Collins Clarke MacGillivray au 222, Autoroute 20 à Pointe-Claire, (sortie 49 –rue Cartier) accessible à partir de la rue Salisbury. Les visites auront lieux de 19h à 21h00 jeudi le 30 janvier, et à 13h00 le lendemain. La Messe funéraire sera célébrée avec amour le vendredi 31 janvier 2020 à 14h00 à l'église Saint-Joachim située au 2 rue Sainte-Anne à Pointe-Claire, église qu'il chérissait pendant plusieurs années. L’officiant sera le Père Alain Roy à qui des remerciements particuliers sont adressés. L’inhumation aura lieu au Cimetière Jardin du Souvenir à Pointe-Claire, suivie d'une réception à la salle de réception des Résidences funéraires Collins Clarke MacGillivray. Un don à la Société Alzheimer serait grandement apprécié au lieu de fleurs.

Il y aura certes des larmes, mais celles-ci ne seront pas uniquement versées dans la douleur, mais aussi comme l’expression d’une profonde gratitude pour le cadeau éblouissant de la vie éternelle qu’il vient d’entreprendre.

A man of faith with the heart of an artist who always wanted to help others has completed his life's work. He died in his 85th year on Saturday January 25, 2020 at the CHLD Côte Vertu in Ville St-Laurent, Quebec. Special thanks are extended to the staff of the 4th and 5th floors of this institution for their dedicated and loving care.

He was greatly blessed during his life with the presence of Aimée-Rose (Mimi) Harrison who accompanied him with love, loyalty and dedication. He will join their only son, Marc, who died on April 24, 2009 and whose premature loss had broken his heart.

André was born in Ramore, Ontario in 1935. His father Alibert St-Aubin and his mother Edna Mailloux, who predeceased him, had transported their small family during the Depression to safety in the small village of Ramore in the North from Ontario. As a young boy, André grew up in a spirit of adventure and friendship, and he often spoke with affection of the people who had enriched his life there. During his life he was also surrounded by his brothers and sisters, namely Jérôme, Daniel, and Rosalie, who predeceased him, as well as Françoise and Etienne.

He demonstrated particular talents as an artist which led him to gently reflect his love of nature and the beauty of life.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Collins Clarke MacGillivray Funeral Homes at 222, Autoroute 20 in Pointe-Claire, (exit 49 – Cartier Street) accessible from Salisbury Street. Visitation will take place from 7 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday January 30, and at 1 p.m. the next day. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated with love on Friday January 31, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Saint-Joachim church located at 2 rue Sainte-Anne in Pointe-Claire, a church he cherished for several years. The celebrant will be Father Alain Roy to whom special thanks are addressed. Interment will be at the Jardin du Souvenir Cemetery in Pointe-Claire, followed by a reception at the reception hall of the Collins Clarke MacGillivray Funeral Home. A donation to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.

There will certainly be tears, but these will not only be shed in pain, but also as an expression of deep gratitude for the dazzling gift of eternal life that he has just undertaken.
