Anita passed away peacefully on March 28, 2015 at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Pointe-Claire, QC after a suffering a sudden stroke. She is survived by her children James (Patricia), Randy (Piper), Jarrett, Brad (Meghan), and Andrea (Daniel); her ten grandchildren Jean, Theresa, Anne, Chloe, Gabriel, Mary, Charlie, Greta, Isaac, and Nate; as well as many nieces and nephews; her sister Emma, and her brothers Grant and Ray. Anita was preceded in death by her parents Mathew and Amy Willett; her sisters Jean and Eva, and her brothers Sidney, Ottis, Cleve, Hedley and Allister. Anita was born and raised in Grand Cascapedia, QC, remaining extremely enthusiastic about her hometown and its rich history throughout her life. At the age of 17, she left home to commence her career working for Johns Manville in Holtyre, ON. She was married in Port-Cartier, QC in 1960, where she started the family to which she devoted herself selflessly. Anita was a skilled curler, competing as skip for many rinks at tournaments on the North Shore and continuing as a member of the Pointe Claire Curling Club when the family moved to the West Island in 1974. She encouraged her children's sporting efforts as well, ferrying them and their friends to practices and games and cheering actively for the Knights of St. Thomas High School, where she was also a long-time volunteer. As her children grew and started families of their own, Anita continued her role as caregiver, becoming a qualified nurse's aide in 1994 and commencing work for Residence Legault in Beaconsfield, where she remained employed until her death, a period of 21 years. Anita was the personification of compassion, developing close relationships with her co-workers and lasting, meaningful connections with those under her care - friends she considered her second family. Aunt "Ninee" loved to dance, tell stories, keep close touch with relatives, and play card games of any kind long into the night. She touched countless people with her tenderness and sympathy. She leaves sorrowful family and friends behind to join the eternal love and comfort of her predeceased family. Special thanks to Anita's long-time physician Dr. Roman Gut. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home at 222 Autoroute 20, Pointe-Claire, QC from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral to be held at 11 a.m., on April 1, 2015 at St. Edmund of Canterbury Catholic Church, 105 Beaconsfield Blvd, Beaconsfield, QC.
