Helen known throughout family and friends as "Aunty Helen" was born in
Lachine, QC on November 24th, 1947, a daughter of the late Andre and Paraskewia Hayduk, a sister of the late Jean Hayduk , and a widow of her beloved John Furlong.
She is survived by her remaining sister Mary Hayduk and leaves loving memories cherished by all, especially her close niece Wendy, grand niece Madison and Nicole, and nephew Stephen for which she treated and relished as her own children.
Helen was a very strong willed woman defined by a spirited, feisty, friendly, and fun loving character. Generosity and kindness were her distinctive qualities and her greatest virtues with a special interest in the well being, community bond and friendship among her close neighbors wherever she lived.
She had an adventurous soul and travelled the world at a young age. Once the Internet gaming world came into her later life, it brought the adventure back and more wonderful opportunities for travel and dear friendships as far away as Tasmania, Australia.
Helen had two passions in her life cooking and animals. She loved nothing more than to cook elaborate meals or host BBQs for family and friends enjoying the fruits of her labor with camaraderie and conversations around the dinner table. (Yes we all know she enjoyed the heated discussions on her strong political views).
Her second passion and love was for animals; 'her babies' as she fondly called them. All the beloved dogs and cats she rescued and treated as part of her family where the loves of her life. Her surviving 2 cats, Mesha and Cosmo, will surely be missing their mom.
You will be greatly missed "Aunty Helen" .... WE LOVE YOU!
