It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Janice Thomerson, on February 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Janice will be deeply missed by her son, Barry; her daughters, Lori (Tom), Amy (Frank), and Marie (Matt); her cherished granddaughter, Rose; her step-grandson, Matthew; and her many nieces and nephews in Toronto. She also leaves behind a legacy of love shared with her adored cats.
A woman of remarkable strength and warmth, Janice treasured her family above all else. Together with her husband of 69 years, Jim (deceased), she worked tirelessly to build a thriving company that reflected their shared dedication and vision.
In the 1970s, she generously gave of her time and talents at Briarwood in Beaconsfield, where she led a Tough Love support group and organized a beloved music program, touching countless lives through her compassion and creativity.
Janice remained actively involved in her children’s and granddaughter’s education, always showing keen interest in their schools and growth.
Born and raised in Mimico, Ontario, as the only daughter among four siblings, Janice grew up with a bright mind, a kind heart, and timeless beauty, qualities that defined her throughout her long and meaningful life.
Her spirit, grace, and unwavering love will remain forever in our hearts. She will be remembered with love and cherished always. A celebration of her life will take place Friday March 27,2026 at The Church of St. John the Baptist located at 233 Sainte-Claire Ave. Pointe-Claire from 12pm – 3pm.
