

On Saturday, September 10, at eighty-nine years of age, at the Sunrise Residence, Jean-Louis passed away and finally found peace from these last few months of pain and suffering. He is survived by his wife, Stasia of sixty years, and four children, Maurice (Ginette), Michel, Elizabeth (Paul) and Carole (Jeff). He will also be sadly missed by his six grandchildren, Eric, Stephanie, Samantha, Joshua, Zachary and Daryan.
A Veteran of the Second World War, our father's military career in the Canadian army spans more than forty years. Upon his retirement in 1981, he was named Honourary Colonel of the 51e Bataillon des Services du Canada.
He has also been actively involved with several volunteer organizations, such as Le Conseil du Québec de l'Ordre de Saint-Jean, for which he was Vice Chancellor.
He has won numerous accolades and awards for his devotion to the welfare of Veterans and his effective advocacy on their behalf.
For twenty-eight years, he was a city councillor and Vice President of the Executive Committee for the City of Saint-Laurent and sitting member of the Montreal Urban Community (MUC). He had a long career with Lévesque, Beaubien, Geoffrion Inc.as a trusted investment advisor.
A sincere heartfelt thank you to the 3rd floor staff at the Sunrise in Dollard des Ormeaux for their compassionate care these last few months of our father's life. We couldn't have done it without you!
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, September 14 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. as well as on Thursday, September 15 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. followed by the service in the chapel of the funeral home at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be gratefully appreciated.
