Jennie Zajac

It is with much sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother Jennie Frosst McAllister (née Zajac) at the Jewish General Hospital on September 5. She was predeceased by her husbands David Frosst in June 1978 and Ian McAllister in February 2015. She leaves to grieve her sister Nadia (John D'Urso), her children Sandra (Rodney Pelletier), Gordon (Nicolette) and Alison (Suzanne Longpré) and her grandchildren Pamela, Scott, Matthew, Keira and Benjamin. She will also be dearly missed by her niece and nephews Stephen, Michael, John, Neil and Jennifer D'Urso and her step-children Michael, Myrna and Kevin McAllister and their children. Jennie was a gracious and strong lady who met life's challenges head on. She was more than up to the task, demonstrated most notably by having earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude from Concordia University at the age of 68. The last few months without Ian were very difficult for her. Now she can rest. As per her wishes, there will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Mission, 98 Aurora Avenue, Pointe Claire on Friday, September 11 at 1 pm. The family will receive condolences in the church hall from noon to 1pm. Immediately after the service, the burial will take place at Mount Royal Cemetery, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont. In lieu of flowers, donations to Helping Hands at the St. Edward the Confessor Mission would be much appreciated.


