Madeleine is predeceased by her husband Marquis Earl Golden, brother Maurice Roy, and sister Clémence Bélanger, survived by her children Hélène, Michael, Robert (Patricia Davidson) and Anne, her grandson Mark Golden, and her siblings Gemma Prévost, Jean-Guy Roy, Laurette Roy and Réné Roy.
Born in Québec City to Joseph Alfred Roy and Germaine Marquis, Madeleine lived in Beauport, where she married Marquis Golden in 1950. The couple moved to Montreal, where the first three children were born. They then spent seven years in Toronto, where they welcomed their fourth child.
Madeleine was fluently bilingual, a gift she made sure her four children shared. She was a gifted seamstress, an amazing cook, a beautiful embroiderer, and a fashion icon.
An avid curler, Madeleine represented the Province of Québec in the national Seniors' Bonspiel several times.
She loved classical music and opera.
