

Margaret Anne Nicoll-Griffith (nee Jordan), only child of John Nealon Jordan and Grace Adriance Kilgour, passed away suddenly on October 21, 2023. Her final moments were spent peacefully at home in Pointe-Claire, surrounded by her children.
She took great pleasure and pride in each and every member of her family. She was a dedicated mother to Deborah, Lynn, and Christopher (Femina); grandmother to Michael (Zoe), Kai, Jarrett (Amanda), Kira (Sujane) and Claire; and great grandmother to Jordan.
She grew up on Brock Avenue North, Montreal West and she attended Montreal West High School (class of 1951). She spent many winters in Saint-Sauveur skiing on Hill 69.
A proud graduate of the School of Nursing of the Montreal General Hospital (MGH), class of 1955, she served as head nurse at the Douglas Hospital until 1959. After marrying Michael, she moved to Pointe-Claire to raise a family. Later, in 2001, she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree through The Thomas More Institute (Bishop’s University) after first attending Bishop’s fifty years earlier, for one year, in 1951.
She was well-connected within many communities through leadership roles in The Church of St. John the Baptist, The Alumni Association of MGH, The Montreal University Woman’s Club, Brownies and Girl Guides, The Pointe-Claire Yacht Club, The Victorian Order of Nurses,The Thomas More Institute, book clubs, bridge clubs and her knitting group.
She loved to help people and provided many with encouragement and support to achieve their dreams. She will be dearly missed by those who experienced her kindness and generosity.
A memorial will be held at The Church of St. John the Baptist, 233 Ste-Claire Ave., Pointe-Claire, on December 9th at 11am. Reception to follow.
