Mary (Balfour) Primeau

27 décembre 19398 novembre 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Mary Primeau (nee Balfour) on November 8th, 2020.

Mary had a very long career at the Montreal General Hospital in Medical Records followed by a busy and fun filled retirement with her family and her friends at Le Cambridge where she resided.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Marcel (1995) and will be greatly missed by her loving children Lynne and Marc (Miriam), her grandsons Tristan and Jarett. She is survived by her sister Vere Martin (Ed-deceased), her brothers Billy (Kathy), Don (Noella) and predeceased by her sister Lou and brother Doug. She leaves to mourn, her very close friend Ken Overbury and many loving nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank Dr. Desmond Milroy and the 3rd floor staff at the Centre Hospitalier Richardson who cared lovingly and compassionately for our mother during her short stay.

Cremation was held at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

We were so saddened to learn of Mary's passing. She was such a loving, generous, caring soul. Her door was always open and her smile would light up any room. We feel honoured to have known her. Our condolences to all.

My deepest sympathies go out to the entire family. My memories of Aunt Mary will always be filled with how her laughter could fill up any room making everyone feel at ease, and how she was always incredibly warm and loving to me and my sisters. Growing up I thought less of her as “Aunt” Mary and more as a third grandmother, and I am grateful to have been able to know her. Rest peacefully Aunt Mary ❤️

Words cannot describe this feeling of loss, I wish I had more time and covid didn’t exist... but I will always and forever cherrish everything my Aunt mary has done for me in my life. She helped change my life for the better. She had a heart of gold and spunky character that ill never forget❤️One memory that comes to mind was - she was always terrified of cats, and there was one that showed up at our trailor house that was so sweet and hungry, and despite her fear, she let me care for it and trusted I would keep it within a certain forcefeild distance around her 😅 even tho when it sneezed she jumped 10 ft in the air lol In the end she admitted that the cat was kinda cute.... mission accomplished on my part! I was one step closer in getting her to like cats❤️ I have far too many memories to write down here but they will always be with me in my heart💗💗💗💗My deepest sympathies go out to all my family and everyone who’s heart she has touched💞
