During her 82 years on this planet, Maureen’s great gift was to see the good in people. She was an amazing listener with a sympathetic ear for everyone, especially for her late husband, Jim Orchard, her children, Karilee, Darla (Luc), Jamie (Jean-Luc), and Grady and her grandchildren Ben, Thomas, Luc and Liam, all of whom will deeply miss her loving presence in their lives.
Maureen was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the first adored child of George and Gladys Craig. Deeply mourning her loss are her cherished sisters Judy, Lesley (the late Jim Suggitt), Nancy, and Laurey (Gerry), and her many nieces and nephews.
Maureen loved to love people, and over the years she was lucky and grateful to create circles of friends who became family. From Brossard, to Trout Lake, to Prescott & Brockville, to Arizona and finally to the Wellesley, Maureen always attracted wonderful people to her circle and revelled in their presence in her life. She was an amazing friend, a surrogate sister, and a second Mom to many.
Some of her other gifts include a wicked, and often raunchy, sense of humour and an ability to love unconditionally. She was a great hugger and a loyal and faithful friend who would never, ever break your confidence. She also made the best « grandma cookies » and never missed an opportunity to send a hand-written note to a friend.
Visitation at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home (222 Autoroute 20, Pointe-Claire, QC, H9S 3X6) on Thursday August 8th from10:30 am to 12:00 pm. A Memorial Service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, Maureen would want you to remember her by honouring and valuing each person you encounter. She would also ask that you « Have fun ».
We love you Mom. Always and Forever.
