Died: April 12, 2013, peacefully at age 100 in Beaconsfield Quebec.
At age 21 Oscar joined the Canadian Pacific Railway and was in their employ for 44 years, until he retired in 1977 as a conductor on the Montreal Commuter trains. Oscar married Isabel Jordan on September 7, 1940. Until Isabel’s death they were married for 58 years. Most of their life together was spent in Dorion Quebec. They had a love of travelling and toured the world extensively in their retirement years.
A Mason of over 60 years and a Shriner for 40 years, Oscar has dedicated many hours to the benefit of the children at the Shriners’ Hospital.
He was a very active member of St George’s Anglican Church in St Anne de Bellevue. He offered his support with love and without question and the dedication to his faith is unwavering. He was a true gentleman, sincere, polite and honest.
Oscar will be missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, it would be most appreciated if a donation were made in Oscar’s memory to the Shriners’ Hospital for Children www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org or to St George’s Anglican Church www.stgeorgesanglicanchurch.org.
Our most sincere gratitude and thanks for all the love and wonderful care shown to Oscar by the administration and staff at the Manoir Beaconsfield and in particular his cribbage companion, Eleanor Dore.
