Uta passed away peacefully on September 29, 2023 at Hawkesbury General Hospital. Uta was a loving wife to Thomas Chrosciel (deceased 2011), mother to Ralf (Claudia Mallette), Jan (Eby Banfill), Kim Ruth (deceased 2023, Paul Mathieu) and Thomas Anton (Caroline Bossé), grandmother of William (Bee), Ashley (Tyler), Hannah, Cassandra (Tim), Scott, Mitchell, Elliott, Riley and MacKenzie.
Uta was a brave young woman when she immigrated to Canada from Germany at the young age of 19. She sent a telegram to Tom Chrosciel, whom she met earlier while on holiday, to pick her up in New York after crossing the Atlantic by ship. They married later that same year on August 28, 1958.
Uta lived her life with a great sense of adventure, fast driving, long forest walks, stained glass and a love of animals and nature.
No funeral services will be held but the family will have a small intimate gathering celebrating her life on Saturday, October 14,2023 from 2 to 5 pm at the Chrosciel house located at 3431 Route Harwood, Hudson.
