

Alice Marion Danielsen, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, went home to be with her Lord on January 23, 2014. Alice was born on November 2, 1929 to Norwegian parents, Gudrun and John Johnsen. She is survived by her loving children, daughter Linda and grandson, Alexander, son Lloyd and wife Barbara and grandchildren, Jessica and Matthew and great grandson, Dimitri, son John and wife Suzanne and grandchildren, Gunnar and Sofia, son Glenn and wife Judy and grandson, Gordon, and son Thomas and grandchildren, Eric and Karli. Alice was married to the late Thomas Emil Danielsen, from Lillesand, Norway, father of all her children, and to the late Ove Kjell Reiersen, from Kvinesdal, Norway. Alice spent a lot of her time between Norway and the United States and was an active member of the Sons of Norway. She was very involved in church, first at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church in Huntington, Long Island, and then at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, where she was a member since 1968. Alice loved music and studied the piano and singing. She was very involved in her church choir for many years and was also choir secretary for the Chancel Choir at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Along with Diane and Roger McMurrin, she helped to organize the first Concert Series at Coral Ridge Pres. Church and was responsible for getting Evie Tornquist for one of the concerts during the 70s. She was also the first person who organized the European trips for the Youth Choir at Coral Ridge. She attended the New Presbyterian Church with her daughter and grandson in the last years of her life. Alice was also an acclaimed artist and has painted 100s of paintings throughout the years, many of them are hanging in the homes of her many friends and family.
Her funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 4 pm, at the New Presbyterian Church, South Campus, 512 N.E. 26th Street, Wilton Manors, Florida 33305, followed by refreshments at the church. Burial will be the following day on Sunday, 10am at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 200 W. Copans Road, Pompano Beach, where she will be laid to rest next to her dear husband, Thomas Emil Danielsen.
The family has decided to ask that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Alice's name to the Rejoice Center of the Arts at the New Presbyterian Church (Rejoice Center/New Presbyterian Church, 512 NE 26th Street, Wilton Manors, Florida 33305) because she was so involved in music and art.
