Arthur Thomas Connolly

Born in Boston, MA on November 24, 1933, son of the late Arthur T Connolly and Mary (Lynch)Connolly. Arthur attended elementary school in Brookline, MA. He moved to Miami, FL with his family where he graduated from Saint Peter and Paul High School. He moved back to Boston and became a proud alumnus of Bentley School of Accounting and Finance and Northeastern University. Arthur had a lengthy career at John Hancock Life Insurance Company, Boston, MA. He retired after 34 years and then owned and ran several businesses.

Arthur was devoted to his family and friends. He performed many charitable and community services as a member of the Knights of Columbus, Scituate Council #3716 and was a familiar face working at the annual K of C Carnival in Scituate Harbor. He was a Past President of the Scituate Beach Association.

Passionate about football, Arthur was a loyal fan of the New England Patriots. He could call a penalty before the referee blew the whistle! He also enjoyed swimming and playing golf. He liked playing all kinds of card games and was a brilliant cribbage player- the game he used to teach his children to count.

In addition to his wife, Marcia, Arthur is survived by his daughters, Mary Beth MacMurray and her husband Charles of Weymouth, MA, Christine Connolly of Marshfield, MA and a son, Marc Connolly of Rockland, MA. He was the adored “Papa” to three grandchildren, Colleen Larue and husband Joseph of Weymouth, MA, Bryan MacMurray of Nashua, NH and Michaela Connolly of Braintree, MA. Great Grandfather to JJ, Jenna and Jack LaRue of Weymouth, MA.

Also survived by his brothers, Richard Connolly and his wife Hilda of Milton, FL and Kevin Connolly and his wife Jo-Ann of Bellingham, MA and many nieces and nephews.

Services and burial in Massachusetts will be announced at a later date.
