

David E. Lonser (b. Sept 28, 1936) left us while sleeping peacefully on February 28, 2020 at the age of 83. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Eileen and by his sister Bonnie Ellen Smith. Dave is
survived by his daughters Barbara (Carmine), Catherine, and Sharon (James) and his grandsons James, Bryan, Christopher and Dustin.
Dave proudly served 3 years in the US Army with active duty in the Korean Conflict. He attended Detroit Institute of Technology (DIT) and received a graduate degree in engineering. He also attended New York Institute of Technology and received an MBA degree. Dave was a long-time resident of Lighthouse Point and an active member of St. Paul the Apostle church. Before he retired, he worked at IBM for 30 years as a Mechanical Engineer and was recognized for his contribution to Special Engineering Design and Build (SEDAB). David was part of the relocation of 3500 employees to Boca Raton in 1967. Dave had a passion for gem cutting. He used this talent to create beautiful jewelry for his family and loved ones and was a member of the Florida Gold Coast Gem and Mineral Society. He also taught faceting at the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts in Georgia. Dave was known for his sarcastic sense of humor and his compassionate spirit. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for his kindness and generosity. Dave was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Family will receive friends at Kraeer Funeral Home, 200 W. Copans Road, Pompano Beach on Friday March 6, 2020 5PM - 8 PM. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday March 7 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Lighthouse Point at 9:30 AM.
