

Hughene “Lynn” (Adlof) Parris, passed away at age 84 with her loving husband and two daughters by her side. Lynn was born June 27, 1937, to Carmen (McIntyre) Adlof and Bernhard A. Adlof. She was the youngest of six children and grew up in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She worked at Michigan Bell as a telephone operator and met “her Jim” in 1957. She married James (Jim) S. Parris in 1958 and had two children: Kellyn (Kelly) and Meribeth (Beth). In 1961, they moved to Orlando, and in 1969, they relocated to Pompano Beach, Florida. She created a Loving Home where many of her children’s friends, and much later her grandchildren’s friends loved to spend time. She worked in the daycare at First Baptist Church Pompano for 20 years, where she loved, rocked, and sang to many babies and toddlers. She also loved animals and over the years was mom to three dogs and two cats, plus one robotic cat she called Angel Baby.
She is survived by her loving husband Jim of Frankfort, Kentucky; two daughters, Kellyn Hammond, and Meribeth Allen; brother Terry Adlof, sister Janette DePlanche of Michigan; granddaughter Jessica Grogan (Patrick) of Boca Raton, and three great granddaughters; Danyiella Denney of Ocala, Florida, Stella and Harper Grogan of Boca Raton, Florida, as well as many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Benard Adlof of Atlanta; sisters Ruth LaChance and Greta Lidke of Michigan, and grandson Jeffeory Denney of Pompano Beach, Florida.
She was the Greatest Wife, Mother and Friend, and will be in Our Hearts Forever!
Visitation will take place at First Baptist Church Pompano on December 4, 2021, from 1:30 to 2:00, followed by the service at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, the Family requests donations be made to the Seniors Ministry or The Lords Gift House at First Baptist Church Pompano, or make a Tribute donation to The Alzheimer’s Association.
