Isabel (Anderson) Hadad, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished family member, passed away peacefully at home on March 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 96 years old. Born on January 2, 1929, in Lisnagat Townland, Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland, to Andrew and Anne (Gass) Anderson, Isabel lived a full and vibrant life marked by faith, family, and dedication.
Raised in Ballynacally, Markethill, Northern Ireland, Isabel attended Milltown Primary School before embarking on a new chapter in 1948 when she emigrated to the United States. She settled first in the Bronx, New York, and later lived in Yonkers and Nanuet, before retiring with her husband to Margate, Florida, in1984. While living in the Bronx, she met and married William L. Hadad Sr. on June 7, 1952, beginning a partnership filled with love and devotion that lasted until his passing in 2003, after 50 years of marriage.
Isabel was a committed family woman and a loving mother to her daughter, Dorothy (Dot, Dottie) Hadad, and her son, William (Bill) L. Hadad Jr. (and his wife, Patti). She delighted in her grandchildren—Ashley, Brian (and his wife, Madison), and Lauren Dirmeyer (and her husband, Devin)—and her great-grandchildren, Tormund and Ryerson Hadad. Her warmth and generosity extended to her many nieces and nephews, as well as her surviving sisters, Anna Grant and Edna Spence. Isabel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Martha Mary (Mae) Ino, and her brothers, Henry and Andrew Anderson.
Professionally, Isabel worked as a salesperson at W.T. Grant store in Nanuet, New York, where her friendly demeanor and strong work ethic shone through. After retiring to Margate, Florida, she embraced her days gardening and visiting with family—passions that brought her immense joy. A talented seamstress, Isabel also loved sewing, crocheting, and quilting, creating countless treasures for those she held dear.
A woman of deep Christian faith, Isabel was an active member of the congregations she attended throughout her life, finding strength and community in her beliefs. Her kindness, resilience, and unwavering love touched all who knew her.
