John A. Long

August 13th , 1960 to April 23rd, 2015

John Alexander Long was born on August 13th, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the son of James and Ruth Long. He spent his early years in Michigan where he attended Gross Point Academy. He later relocated with his family to Miami, Florida, where he attended Archbishop Curley Notre Dame High School and later completed his education at Duke University. John later became a successful businessman in the power industry for over 20 years. He later met and married his wife of 26 years, Grace Ho-Sang. John was an active member and youth leader of his church, Church of the Risen Messiah in Lake Worth, Florida. He was a friend and mentor to many and was well loved and respected by all. John passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, April 23rd, 2015 at his home in Coconut Creek, Florida. He is survived by his father, James Long, his wife, Grace, and children, Richard, Sabine, and Jessica. Other survivors include his favorite aunt, Elaine L. Thompson, Aunt Sheerine L. McGriff, Uncles Jonathan Long, Tyrone Long, and Waverlyn Long, Cousins Kenneth Stanley, Kim Stanley, Anthony Long, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services and interment will be held on Friday, May 1st, 2015, from 11:30-12:30 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens located at 200 W. Copans Road Pompano Beach, FL 33064.
