Joe was born to Elizabeth (Colman) Jutras Keefe and Paul Jutras on April 2, 1961 in Lowell, MA. He grew up in Tewksbury, MA and was a graduate of Tewksbury Memorial High School, where he was a stand out hockey player. He went on to attend the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design and he met his former wife, Lynn Costello Jutras. They lived first in North Reading, MA and then for many years in East Bridgewater, MA. They remained close friends and partners in raising their two children Sam and Brett, who Joe was incredibly proud of.
Joe excelled in his lifelong work as a finish carpenter. Most recently, he was employed as a Manager at Closets by Design in Pompano Beach, FL and found so much joy in this rewarding new chapter of his career.
Joe was an avid Boston sports fan (he also began supporting Florida teams – never the Dolphins though!). He loved spending time at the Jutras family camp on Mousam Lake in Shapleigh, Maine. He enjoyed playing cards, boating, fishing and water sports. In his younger years, he was an expert slalom water skier!
Joe is preceded in death by his father, Paul Jutras; his stepfather Bill Keefe; his brother Jeffrey Jutras; his brother-in-law, Ken Williams; and his father-in-law Brownie Kaval.
Joe is survived by his mother Elizabeth Jutras Keefe of Belfast, ME, his children Brett Jutras of East Bridgewater, MA and Samantha (Jutras) Sartorelli and his son-in-law AJ Sartorelli of Medford, MA, his sister Julie Williams of Unity, ME, his nieces and nephews Paul Jutras of Cambridge, Dan Williams of Unity, ME, Laura Williams and her husband Jamie Moffatt of Shapleigh, ME, his former wife Lynn Jutras of East Bridgewater, MA, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and work colleagues that he loved dearly.
A Celebration of life will take place on Sunday November 17, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM at The Great American Beer Hall, located a 142 Mystic Avenue, Medford MA, 02155. Wearing New England Patriots gear or colors are highly encouraged!
