My deepest condolences to all members of Juani's Family and my prayers as well. 
I knew Juani, as far as I can remember as little girls in our beloved Puerto Padre. Her bicycle  was her great companion and for the rest of us was  hard to bit her on a race. I clearly remember racing her to the top of "El fuerte de la Loma" ( Spanish fortress on a hill at the entrance of our town) , our group gasping and sweating, but Juani was the first to reach the top with a big smile shouting with joy and now with those happy memories in my heart, I know that she has won her race to heaven, free at last of all the suffering. 
Since she had to leave Cuba we lost contact, and our group took different routes, but eventually we were able to connect again and the bond of true friendship never was disolved. What a great joy and privilege to have a friend like her! I congratulate her children and the rest of the family  for having such special person in their lives for I too  had also a very special person as a dear friend in mine. God Bless her soul! Amen.

The Ehlers family has shared countless cherished moments with Junita, from holidays and proms to birthdays and family dinners. No matter the occasion, she always welcomed us with a warm smile and a loving hug. The love and devotion she poured into her grandchildren was extraordinary, setting a beautiful example of kindness and strength. She was a wonderful grandmother and an incredible role model for all of us girls.

Juanita was my Mom's first cousin, and I remember them being close as sisters in their youth sharing each other's joys, tribulations, triumphs and family stories as they went on in life, and became perfect touchstones for their families.  As a child and throughout my adulthood, visiting Juani and her boys was always a highlight in my life.  Her welcoming personality, sense of humor, pure love and positive outlook was infectious, and always made me and anyone else who was around her happier and glad to be alive. She was especially great with children, and some of my favorite memories was of her playing childhood games or dress up time with me, no matter how busy she was. She remained the same sweet lovable person throughout her life, and despite the last few years of challenging times she remained upbeat with nary a complaint.. Her motivation to fight the good fight for as long as possible was to live for and inspire her children and grandchildren. Graceful, brave and beautiful her precious soul has moved on to her next journey, and made Heaven a more beautiful place. Love and miss you, Juani.  Never forgotten, as you will remain in my heart and memories. God bless you, Prima, and her beautiful family and legacy. Lillian.

Mom, I love you always and forever. As family, we were blessed and very lucky to have such a loving mom in our lives. In addition, an amazing loving grandmother, sister, and family matriarch… kind friend and neighbor as well. Thank you for eternity, for all the great memories and moments in our lives. You are going to be greatly missed eternally. God bless you and may you rest in peace forever. Mom, you will be joining Abuelito y Abuelita,, Dad,  Abuelo, Abuela, Eme, Seng, Bertilla, Marta, Maria Julia, Tio Cuqui, my Godfather, and any other family members that I may have omitted… additionally along with any close family friends such as Jesus and Nelson. Mom is survived by  her remaining brother Tio Yito and Aunt Cherie, Thank You for everything  in the past, present, and future.

Juanita’s kindness will never be forgotten.I will always cherish the days Juanita spent helping me with Myles , treating him so special. Every time he would see her, he would repeat her name at least 25 times.  He was so happy to see her beautiful smile .Sending prayers to your family. I know your hearts are heavy. I was truly blessed to have you in my life since I was 25 years old. You have been a Mother to me, and the most loving Grammy to the boys. I have thousands of memories of you and I just passing the days away at the beach, the park, malls, museums, just hanging together with the boys. You were with me to experience and celebrate everything monumental in my life. The birth of the boys, baptism, first steps, birthday’s, school events,  holidays, first haircuts, doctor visits, vacations, graduations, through the good and the bad we always had each other to rely on. I will miss your voice filled with excitement when you walked in a room and our very long conversations as we worried together over the family. It’s very hard to lose an anchor in the family, the loss is tremendous but the memories are even more JOYFUL! I hope you are with my Mom and you two are celebrating every magnificent day that Heaven has to offer. I pray they have a beautiful blue ocean for you to swim in, like you loved to do here on earth. Thank you for enhancing my life with being who you are.

Juanita was such a beautiful woman, inside and out. I always admired her hands—they were strong yet soft, offering comfort and warmth to everyone around her. They reminded me so much of my own Abuelita’s hands, and I often told her that. She had a way of making everyone around her feel at home with just a touch and a smile.

My heart is with the entire family during this difficult time. May the love she shared continue to live on in all of you.
