Later, she married Gerard Patalidis in Detroit, Michigan and they moved to St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands in 1968 where she lived for the next 50 years. She loved the sea, the various Caribbean islands and their culture. Judy loved the vibrant colors represented in local art and fabrics especially. For many years, the family sailed together on their sailboat, visiting other Caribbean islands. She moved to Florida in 2018.
