On June 1st, 1992, at West Boca Medical Center in Boca Raton, FL, the world welcomed a radiant soul, Kayla Victoria Perla. With heavy hearts, we announce her unexpected departure from this world on November 15th, 2023, at the age of 31. Kayla's memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Born to Wayne and Dolores, Kayla shared her journey with her beloved brother, Ethan James. She was a graduate of Zion Lutheran High School and pursued her education for two years at Palm Beach State College.
Kayla's spirit shone brightly as she bartended at sports events, music festivals, and private gatherings. Known for her creativity, she crafted beautiful gift baskets for special occasions, demonstrating a heart full of generosity and kindness. Her dreams included one day establishing an animal shelter, a testament to her compassion for all living beings.
A devoted "dog mom", Kayla found joy in the company of her canine companions—Biggie, Butter, Coco, Mini, and Moët. Her love for them was evident in the countless pictures she captured, immortalizing the bond they shared.
Passionate about music and dancing, Kayla embraced life's rhythms with exuberance. Mother-daughter days and spontaneous trips brought her immense happiness, creating cherished memories that will forever linger in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share those moments with her.
Kayla's compassionate nature extended beyond her immediate circle; she found purpose in uplifting others through motivational quotes and regularly contributed to the well-being of the less fortunate by feeding the homeless.
In the midst of her joyful and vibrant spirit, Kayla possessed a playful and silly side. Her laughter, especially when shared with her cousin Devin, echoed with a carefree joy that left lasting impressions. Even in these moments of mirth, her family lovingly recalls the gentle reprimands to keep the noise down.
Kayla also cherished conversations with her Aunt Greta. Her Mom vividly recalls her voice, as if it were yesterday, warmly greeting Aunt Greta with a cheerful "Hey Aunt Greta." A humorous anecdote accompanies this connection: Mom and Aunt Greta, polar opposites in their expressions—Mom reserved, Aunt Greta dramatic. Kayla delighted in calling her aunt, sharing stories just to witness her animated reactions. Aunt Greta's playful response, questioning their familial ties, became a source of shared laughter and fond memories.
Despite the occasional teasing from her brother Ethan, who affectionately referred to her as "Little Sis," Kayla embraced her familial bonds. She shared a special connection with her father, Wayne, a connection of shared traits—strong-willed, stubborn, and, above all, personable.
Kayla's unbreakable bond with her mother, Dolores, was the cornerstone of her life. Daily exchanges of simple greetings held immeasurable significance, illustrating the depth of their connection. The void left by Kayla's absence will be felt profoundly, but her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
Kayla is survived by her grieving parents, Wayne and Dolores, her brother and sister-in-law, Ethan and Rachael, and her niece and nephew, Georgia Clare and Wesley Joseph. Her legacy also lives on through her Grandfather Gerald Perla, Grandmother Ruth Schwoyer, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and, of course, her cherished canine companions.
In celebrating Kayla's life, let us remember the warmth she brought to ours and carry forward the love and compassion she so freely shared. May her soul find eternal peace.
