Kevin John Seery

Kevin J. Seery, age 78, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was born on August 9, 1943 in Queens, NY to parents, John G. Seery of Bronx, NY and Madlyn Regina Meyer of Queens, NY. Kevin is preceded in death by his parents; and his faithful Golden Retriever, Ginger. He is survived by his wife, Katherine E. Seery; daughter, Regan E. Seery; cat, Garfield; niece, Cynthia Fazekas Young; nephews, John Leighow and G. Christopher Leighow; and an extension of family and friends.

Kevin attended Dowling University in Oakdale, NY and Fordham University in New York, NY. He went on to work in the NYPD for 20 years, 3 months and 13 days then worked for the school board in Bay Shore, NY as a Special Education Teacher and Director of Central Registration. He was most proud of being the President of Suffolk County Attendance Teachers Association.

In 1974, Kevin married Katherine E. Yobb and the couple had one daughter together, Regan E. Seery. She was the apple of his eye.

Kevin loved fishing, boating, traveling, cruising and loved to cook and barbecue with his friends. He always enjoyed a good joke, spending time with his family and his Vermont vacations. His close friends and family, lovingly called him 'Bubba'.

Prior to his passing, Kevin had made arrangements for his final wishes. Within those pages, he wrote this for us, "I will miss you all terribly - I go on this journey alone with hopes, one day we will all be together again. With no regrets. I have lived, I have loved and I have been loved." Kevin will be deeply missed.

In honor of Kevin's love of the ocean, his cremated remains will be scattered over the Neptune Memorial Reef at a later date.
