Leona M. Chance

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Carroll Chance, her son Dale Thomas Hawkins, and two brothers, James Donachy and Paul Donachy, and one sister Mary Goff. She is survived by her two daughters; Mrs. James (Brenda) Booker of Boca Raton, FL and Mrs. John (Doris) Brown of Myersville, MD, one son, Carl Hawkins of Boca Raton, FL, one sister, Mrs. Kenny (Bertha) Howell, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, her ex-husband Carl Dale Hawkins, many nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Leona was a graduate of Shinnston High School, Shinnston, West Virginia and took several college levels courses throughout her adult lifetime. Leona loved music. In fact, she was a music teacher for many years. Leona was also a devoted follower of Jesus Christ all of her life. She was a member of River of Life Church in Pompano Beach, FL.

The funeral service will be held from 12:00pm to 3:00pm on Friday, May, 1 2020 at Kraeer Funeral Home at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pastor Marcum, of River of Life Church, will deliver the sermon and James Booker will be officiating. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 Crisis, we are allowed only ten guests. However, for those who weren’t invited, the service will be streamed on line on Facebook for anyone who wants to like the page and attend in that fashion.
