Mark John Sheehan Jr.

Sheehan Jr., Mark John (Bud) born in Chicago, Illinois on May 3, 1927 passed away peacefully on November 30, 2011 and is now resting in Heaven. Mark grew up in Chicago and graduated from St. Margaret of Scotland, St. Ignatius Preparatory High School, and was a graduate of The University of Notre Dame and served in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth, of 57 years and by daughter, Catherine I. Sheehan. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark J. Sheehan, III.

Mark worked in insurance all of his life until his retirement from A. J. Gallagher and Company.

Mark will be remembered as a caring and loving husband, father, a gentleman, a quiet Christian, an American and a Notre Dame man all the way. Notre Dame has lost another most devoted fan.

“God saw you getting tired and the time was not to be so He put his arms around you and whispered “come with me”. With careful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, now you can rest. God only takes the best!”

A funeral mass will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 731 N. Ocean Blvd., Pompano Beach, FL on Monday, December 5th at 11:00am. A reception will follow to celebrate Mark’s life.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Hospice by the Sea, Catholic Charities, or to the Poor Clair Nuns.
