

FUTORAN, ROBERT J. passed away on January 19, 2017 due to a pre-leukemia blood platelet disorder. He was 94 years old. Mr. Futoran was in the rehab part of the Woodlands Health Facility on the campus of John Knox Village in Pompano Beach, where he had been living for the past few years. Last week he had entered hospice and was being cared for by hospice doctors and nurses until his death.
Bob was a Navy Veteran in WW2-a Lieutenant on the U.S.S. Black, a destroyer vessel. After the war he worked in business and became a Corporate Executive at a company that enabled he and his wife Patricia to travel the world for business. After his retirement, Bob and Pat moved to Pompano Beach where Bob became a member of the Fort Lauderdale Country Club and spent nearly every day there golfing and socializing. Bob lived in Pompano Beach for over 30 years.
His sister Gloria and her husband Jim Barr (both deceased), his mother Lillian Futoran deceased, and his wife Patricia (deceased) were also long-time residents of Pompano Beach.
Bob is now survived by his only child Marc and Marc’s wife Debbie; Bob’s only 2 grandchildren - Danielle Futoran Turos and her husband Bob; Nicole Futoran; and his only nephew James Barr III (aka Skip).
Viewing and Service will be held on Wednesday, January 25 2017, 1-3 p.m. at Kraeer Funeral Home, 200 North Federal Highway in Pompano Beach, Their phone number is 954-941-4111. There will be a social time with food afterwards.
