

Salvatore S. D'Alessandro, 82, formerly of Boston, MA entered external life on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife Jeanette and children Denise Franco, Michael D'Alessandro, Diane D'Alessandro and Tina D'Alessandro. Pre-deceased by his son Salvatore S. D'Alessandro, Jr. and brother Anthony D'Alessandro. A surviving sister Grace Giorgione of Florida and 7 grandchildren Nick Franco, Christina DiSangro, Joseph Franco, Sean D'Alessandro, Maria DiSangro, Anthony D'Alessandro and Samantha Preddy. Visitation by Forest Lawn North in Pompano Beach Thursday, Oct 18, 2-4 & 6-8 followed by an 11:00 funeral mass on Friday, Oct 19 at St. Vincent's Church in Margate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
Salvatore and Jeanette were high school sweethearts and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in February of 2012 with a renewal of their wedding vows. After graduating high school, Sal joined the US Marine Corp in 1950 and served in the Korean War.
Sal continued his honor and leadership and joined the Sons of Italy in 1979 when he moved to Florida with his family. He climbed the ladder to President of his local Lodge in Coral Springs then on to become the State President of Florida of the Order Sons of Italy in America. Finally, Sal then became one of the Vice Presidents in the National Order.
Sal participated in masny organizations including: Marine Corps League #755; American Legion; Disabled American Veterans; Township Mens' Club of Coconut Creek and Italian-America Club of Coconut Creek.
