Seneida Castillo

Seneida was born in Las Cañitas to Luis and Cilita on June 5,1943. In her younger years, she helped raise her younger siblings and was like a second mother to them. At 15, she met her future husband and love of her life, Dumas Ariel Castillo.

Together they had four daughters-Arelis, Carmen, Evelyn (my mom), and Francia. Seneida was a homemaker who was dedicated to raising her daughters and caring for her husband. Mama was a no-nonsense, strong-willed woman who was not afraid to speak her mind. A devoted Catholic, she was very involved in her church and community. She loved sewing and would spend her time making new creations for her family.

In her final years, Mama Seneida lived in the home of her daughter and my mother, Evelyn, where she was lovingly cared for. Evelyn devoted herself to being her mother’s primary caregiver, surrounding her with comfort, dignity, and constant love. Mama passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her daughters Evelyn, Arelis, and Francia as well as close family friends.

Seneida is preceded in death by her parents Cilita and Luis, her loving husband Dumas, sister Gladys, great grandson Alex, and nephew Morenito.

Her love, strength, and devotion to her family will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Seneida Castillo, de 82 años, originaria de Las Cañitas, falleció el 4 de marzo en Pompano Beach.

Seneida nació en Las Cañitas el 5 de junio de 1943, hija de Luis y Cilita. En sus años de juventud ayudó a criar a sus hermanos menores y fue como una segunda madre para ellos. A los 15 años conoció a su futuro esposo y el amor de su vida, Dumas Ariel Castillo. Juntos tuvieron cuatro hijas: Arelis, Carmen, Evelyn (mi mamá) y Francia. Seneida fue ama de casa y se dedicó con amor a criar a sus hijas y atender a su esposo.

Mamá era una mujer de carácter fuerte, decidida y que no tenía miedo de decir lo que pensaba. Católica devota, participaba activamente en su iglesia y en su comunidad. Le encantaba coser y pasaba su tiempo creando cosas nuevas para su familia.

En sus últimos años, Mama Seneida vivió en la casa de su hija y mi madre, Evelyn, donde fue cuidada con mucho amor. Evelyn se dedicó completamente a ser la cuidadora principal de su madre, rodeándola de comodidad, dignidad y cariño constante. Mamá falleció en paz en su hogar, rodeada de sus hijas Evelyn, Arelis y Francia, así como de familiares y amigos cercanos.

Seneida fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres, Cilita y Luis; su amado esposo, Dumas; su hermana Gladys; su bisnieto Alex; y su sobrino Morenito.

Su amor, fortaleza, y dedicacion a su familia permaneceran para siempre en el corazon de quienes la conocieron y amaron.
