3/20/1931-9/20/2023
It is with deep sorrow and much love we mourn the passing of Sybil Andrade [nee Davies], who passed away peacefully on September 20, 2023 surrounded by her family. Sybil was born in Cardiff, Wales, on March 20, 1931, and while studying in London, met the love of her life, Harold Andrade, who was from Jamaica. They were married for 45 years and lived in Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Florida. Sadly, Harold passed away in 1997. Being a resilient woman, she persevered, focusing her life on her faith and her family, handling the ups and downs that life threw at her with grace and ease.
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was a loving, independent resourceful and positive person. She could accomplish anything she set her mind to and that trait is our inheritance. She was a devout Christian, and an active member of Bible Study Fellowship, and all churches she attended. She was an amazing caregiver with many hobbies; gardening…such a green thumb; no plant was allowed to look brown! A passionate reader…it was wonderful when the Kindle came along because it created so much more room in the house! A very thoughtful, and kind person, she was a delight to be with, never wanting to be a burden to anyone. She was a good listener, loved people, showing concern and always trying to be helpful. Her family and friends were always touched when they'd answer the phone to hear her ask, "How are you?"
She was deeply loved by her family and leaves behind her children, Jennifer (Abe) Kawass, David (Camille) Andrade, Susan (Tom) Phalen, Bobby (Janet) Andrade; her thirteen grandchildren and their spouses and soon to be 21 great grandchildren; her dear brother Basil (Ann) Davies, and many nieces and nephews. She dearly loved the Lord and we know that she is in His presence watching over us all.
